All businesses need sales in order to run. Without sales, your business will die. The only ways your business doesn’t die is if it is constantly growing and expanding, obtaining new customers and implementing new techniques. Let’s face the fact that a lot of the old business techniques don’t work anymore. The internet is a lot better place to get your message out than the old word of mouth technique. It this article, I am going to be breaking down a few techniques that you can use to help your business grow and succeed.
1. S.M.A.R.T. goals
Growing up, we have all probably heard the use of “SMART” goals, but what exactly are they again? SMART goals are goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. Broken down, a specific goal is basically knowing what is my product, how am I going to reach my market, where am I going to reach them, which method am I going to use and why am I going to do it that way. In other words, it’s the ultimate form of clarity which you need in business. Next, you need to have a method in place that can accurately measure your progress. An attainable goal means that you can reach it. A realistic goal keeps you motivated. Finally, a timely goal lets you schedule when you think that goal will be hit.
2. Know your target audience/market
If you don’t know who your ideal customer is, how are you going to reach them? This is why you must know who you are trying to serve. If you are into fitness, are you serving bodybuilders, powerlifter, people who do yoga, or fitness enthusiasts in general? These questions you must know the answer to. Again, the more clear you are in your business, the more you’ll know where it is going.
3. Network, network, network
Remember the old adage “It’s not what you know, it is who you know”? This still applies today. Going to networking events and joining groups on social media like Facebook will help you connect with other successful people in your market. These people can help you figure out the problems in your business as well as help you expand it. Instead of trying to sell products or services at these gatherings, try and pick the brains of the successful entrepreneurs in your space. Get their contact information and build upon the relationship. Relationships and trust are everything in business. Doing these techniques and doing it frequently will open up many doors for you and your business.
4. Social Media
We have kind of already hinted on the importance of social media. However, social media is the new form of business these days. You must have your business on every media outlet where you can spread your message effectively. These sites include YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to name a few. Next, you can get really good at advertising on these platforms. This will help you reach an even bigger audience and expand your business.
5. Consistency
If the techniques that you are using aren’t consistent with the growth of your business, it won’t be good. You want to make sure that you are keeping your marketing campaigns as consistent as possible. This goes back to having SMART goals. Also, be consistent with posting content, engaging with your customers, responding to emails, etc. The more consistent you are at follow up, the more your customers will respect and trust you.
6. Technology and finances
A few of the things that I would implement into your business is the use of Clickfunnels. This marketing software makes it easy to set up landing pages and attract customers. While keeping attention on your finances, I would look into a Solar PPA. A solar power purchase agreement allows you to use solar power at your business with little to no cost. It will not only help out the environment but it will also help out your business from a finance perspective.
