How to Be More Productive in Your Everyday Life

In this day in age, there are so many distractions and so much on our schedules that it’s easy to lose focus, especially as a busy mom. In order to achieve our goals, we need good time management and organizational skills to lead a more productive day. Whether you are a stay at home mom or work from home, when you plan your day properly, you can cut out all of the distractions and finish everything that you set your mind to. If you ever feel like you’re not getting enough accomplished throughout your day or you just wish you had more time, read along… Here’s a compiled list of productivity hacks that will set yourself up for success:

Wake Up Earlier

Whether you’re a morning person or not, waking up even an extra 30 minutes earlier can truly kick off your day with success. Those quiet hours of a morning are crucial for clearing your mind, gathering your thoughts and planning your day before even getting started on your tasks.

There are so many more benefits of waking up early, yet so many people struggle with the idea of it all. Here are a few tips that will help you wake up early and cultivate a morning mindset that will ultimately lead you to living a more productive everyday life:

Wake Up Your Brain – As soon as your alarm goes off, fill your mental space with positivity and inspiration. Listen to a quick podcast or read an excerpt from a book you’re currently reading.

Develop a Positive Attitude – Get excited to start your day! Don’t think about all of the reasons why you should sleep a little bit longer or stay snuggled in your bed. Make waking up early a positive habit and keep in mind the benefits you are receiving by getting up out of bed. Build a music playlist and turn it on every morning to get you hyped up for the day. It can start off SO much better when you’re dancing to your favorite music blasting from your headphones while making breakfast.

Get Enough Rest—The quality of sleep you receive each and every night is very important in waking up earlier. Going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day will put your body in a routine as it gets conditioned to this and will help regulate your sleep patterns accordingly.

Build up Momentum – So after your alarm goes off, the next challenge is to stay awake. Think about the things that get you energized. Maybe it’s coffee or a good workout… Find a routine that will keep your eyes open, your mind clear and your body ready to jumpstart the day.

Write Down & Prioritize Your Tasks

Writing things down can change the way we live our lives. It clears our mind and helps process our tasks for the day. Along with writing down your tasks for the day, it also helps when you write down your goals for the day, week and month. What are some of the things you want to accomplish today? How about next week or full the entire month? We gain a sense of satisfaction when we accomplish our tasks which in return enhances our productivity.

Avoid Multitasking By Time Blocking Your Schedule

Time blocking is when you set aside a certain amount of time to complete certain tasks for the day. Look at your day and plan big chunks of time where you can schedule the tasks you need accomplished for the day and break them down accordingly. Batch your tasks by category; for example, while you’re on your phone sending e-mails, also plan to follow-up on your social media marketing during this same block of time.

Have Clarity & Understand Your Limits

If you are working too hard, don’t take on more tasks than you need to. Keep your daily goals to a minimum. Focus on the most important task first, then move on to the next important in that order so you are never overwhelmed. Take a break when needed. It’s perfectly fine for you to take a breather to recharge your body and mind.

Lastly, never allow yourself to become a perfectionist. Nobody is perfect, so if you don’t quite get everything on your to do list accomplished, write it down for the next day. Learn from your productivity habits and make changes when necessary.

Becoming more productive in your everyday life is all up to you. Your goals, your mindset and how you spend your day all play a role in your productivity. There are several time saving digital apps that can also help with productivity and time management. Many businesses are turning to modern digital solutions for productivity efficiency. You can also look into these options, as they will be a great asset in your daily routine.
