The Do’s And Don’ts Of Swimming

For starters, if you are thinking about swimming then yes, you are about to take one wise step because swimming is one of the best and the healthiest sport possible. You see, what makes swimming a great sport is the fact that all of your body is involved in this exercise and it comes with so many health benefits that you will definitely get tired counting them.

Another great part is that swimming is good for all the people in the world no matter what their age is. Yes, you read it right! You should, in fact, put your little one in a swimming class and teach him/her swimming because this exercise comes with long term benefits that your child will encounter when he grows into an adult.

Swimming comes with a lot of benefits but on top of that, it’s even a cure to a lot of diseases. For example, if you are someone who has asthma then yes, swimming can improve your condition. If you want to increase your respiratory capacity then again, you need to opt for swimming. The point is that if you really want to add some healthy years to your life then you should swim every day. But first, find a good swimming lessons agency and then learn how to swim properly.

The Do’s And Don’ts You Need To Follow

Here are some of the do’s and don’ts you need to follow when it comes to swimming;

1-Don’t Jump Right In

Never directly jump inside the pool. First, you are supposed to stretch your body a little and prepare it just like you have to do before every workout. You don’t want your muscles screaming for weeks and crying in pain so the wiser thing to do is to first prepare your body and then jump inside the water. This is a must-to follow tip so don’t bail on it.

2-Do Breath Slowly From Your Nose

Swimming isn’t about holding your breath underwater and if you do that then know that it’s one big mistake that you are making and it will come with certain consequences. Instead of holding your breath, the wiser thing to do would be to breathe slowly while you are under the water and only use your nose to exhale the air.

3-Don’t Let Your Hips Sink

You don’t want to go down in the water while you are swimming, right? Well, if that’s the case then never let your hips sink because that will be one big mistake and you will go down in the water. You see, when you will let your hips sink, more resistance will be created in the water and that’s something you are supposed to avoid.

4-Do Use Your Whole Body

You are supposed to pull your body up to the water and for that, you need to put your arms into action. Your core, on the other hand, should be rotating in the water constantly and you need to kick from your legs so that you can move forward. The point is that you just need to involve all of your body if you really want to see the results.

Overall Verdict

These are some of the do’s and don’ts you need to follow when it comes to swimming. So, make sure to use the tips we just mentioned above and again, first get some professional training so that you don’t fall a victim to an accident and your swimming experience remains all great!
