Three Tips to Limit Risk During COVID-19

During the time of this unprecedented pandemic outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, it is important for everyone to play their part in limiting their risk of exposure and contamination. In keeping yourself safe and protecting yourself from the virus, you are also contributing to the health of the greater public. If you are safe and healthy, then you will not expose anyone else to COVID-19 nor will you put anyone at further risk of exposure.

The following information includes three tips that you may use to reduce your risk in contracting and/or spreading the virus.

1. Wash Your Hands

Keeping your hands clean is a key step in preventing the spread of disease. Especially during this pandemic, be sure to wash your hands frequently throughout the day, and make sure to do so after touching your face, after going outside, before eating, and before preparing any food. This will kill viruses, bacteria, and other germs present on your hands so that they do not spread and infect you and others.

Hand washing requires proper equipment and technique in order to be most effective. Counter mounted soap dispensers, popular in Class A office buildings, airports, stadiums and other facilities designed for large crowds, are useful tools for making sure that your hands are as clean as possible.

2. Protect Yourself from Contact with Surfaces

Taking precautions when touching surfaces reduces your risk of contracting diseases that are living on those surfaces. Viruses may stay alive on surfaces for a period of hours or days, so it is important to stay vigilant and limit your contact with surfaces inside and outside your home. Certain technologies facilitate reduced contact with surfaces and help eliminate the risk of contamination. Take counter mounted dispensers for example.

Most counter mounted dispensers are either hard to refill or need to be cleaned frequently to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination. Kutol provides an innovative system that refills from above the counter and eliminates the risk of contamination. The counter mount refills from above the counter using a patented refill “dock” and resealable refill bags. With this system, there are no messy spills or leaks, you don’t need to crawl under the counter to refill the dispenser, and there is no waste from partially filled cartridges. All of these advantages help to prevent the spread of disease and make the process of refilling your counter mounted dispenser quick and easy to do.

  1. Maintain Social Distancing

In addition to washing hands frequently and protecting yourself from contact with surfaces, it is critically important to maintain your distance from people outside of your household. Take care when spending time outside, grocery shopping, or running essential errands to keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and others. Any time you are within six feet of another person, regardless of whether or not they are exhibiting flu-like symptoms such as coughing or sneezing, you are at risk of infection via airborne droplets carrying the virus. Limiting person-to-person contact as much as possible helps slow down the spread of COVID-19, and contributes to a faster recovery across the world.
