Should you go to Chernobyl? The reason for visiting Pripyat

First of all, let’s define what Tour Сhernobyl is. This is a trip to a 30-kilometer zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, where in 1986 took place one of the most famous and dangerous nuclear disasters in world history.

Visiting Chernobyl with Trips to Cherbobyl is the best variant for any ukrainian and foreigner. Professional guides will take care of you, transfer and safety. Moreover, you will be aware of a lot of interesting information and facts that were hidden from the public for ages.

Sightseeing of the tour Chernobyl

Visitors go to Chernobyl both for the sake of the atmosphere in general, and in order to check into some objects that have become popular in many documentaries, serials, books and video games. What else is there in the Zone and what must be seen?

  • Chernobyl-2. A once top secret city that was hidden from all maps during the Cold War. The military lived there with families, who were engaged in space espionage or tracked the launches of ballistic missiles. Here you may already better feel the stalker mood, because no one lives there as the town stands abandoned. In some buildings you can find certain objects left over from those times. But the most interesting is the “Duga” – the same radar station, thanks to which it was possible to detect the launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
  • Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This place, perhaps, requires no introduction. Now a new sarcophagus has been installed over the fourth power unit (where the catastrophe occurred), which is designed for 100 years.
  • Chernobyl city, which is located 12 kilometers from the place where everything once started. Before the catastrophe, its population was about 14 thousand inhabitants. Despite the sonorous name, this town had never anything to do with the power plant – all the workers lived in neighboring Pripyat. The radiation level is quite low here (sometimes even lower than in Kiev). It’s worth ordering a tour Chernobyl to see that there is life even inside the Zone.
  • Red forest adjacent to the power plant. It was this place that immediately after the accident took on a shock dose of radiation. After the disaster, the needles affected by radiation acquired a brownish-red hue. Today on this site there is a new forest that has grown on the site of the old one. The trees are green here, but they still store a significant dose of radiation. This is one of the most dangerous places in the area with the highest radiation levels. Staying here for a long time is life-threatening.

Why to go to Chernobyl?

Taking the Chernobyl tour is, first of all, an opportunity to see with your own eyes the consequences of the nuclear power industry, factories, the arms race, and what all this can bring to humanity. On the one hand, it is like a journey to an other world: where people haven’t lived for 30 years and nature has taken its toll. On the other hand, you may see how the population together with nature can live through the terrible repercussions, as this place isn’t completely abandoned today. For example, there are about one and a half thousand scientists, factory workers, security guards and 84 self-settlers (those who returned to their homes after the accident) who live in shifts. In addition, about 100 more people live in different villages throughout the zone. So, go to Chernobyl with our team and feel this majestic atmosphere with once dead but now alive place!
