WhatTBC items Players Can Get in the Brewfest Event

Players were excited for Brewfest to come to 2021, but it wasn’t what they expected it to be.

Fans were hyped when Blizzard announced that Brewfest was coming to WoW Burning Crusade. A holiday that’s based on the well-known Bavarian holiday from real life, Oktoberfest, Brewfest is a special event in World of Warcraft where players can earn tokens to get special Brewfest TBC items such as clothing, toys, and access to the Beer of the Month Club. And of course, who could forget about the festive transformations that happen to a player’s mount and the Brewfest Ram?

Pretzels, booze, and cheese, these three things embody what Brewfest in World of Warcraft is all about. The great thing about this event is that both factions can participate. Meaning that both the Alliance and the Horde can enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest at their leisure!

It’s usually a time of joy and celebration, however things took an unexpected turn after Blizzard announced the event, leaving players fuming. So,what happened that led to the community turning on Brewfest? Let’s find out!

A History Lesson about Brewfest

Before getting down to the nitty-gritty, players should know the details of the event. As mentioned before, it’s a holiday that’s heavily inspired by Oktoberfest, which is a real-life holiday that’s celebrated annually. Brewfest was introduced back in 2007 on October 2nd and the main event is held in Durotar and Dun Morogh. There, the competing breweries, Barleybrew, the Ogres, and Thunderbrew, all gather in a place outside their cities in a bid to outdo each other by serving up the best meads, beers, and ales. It’s not Brewfest without the good stuff, after all! Players are then invited to relax as well as sample (or chug) the finest drinks that the brewers have to offer. They can use this chance to snag a couple of Brewfest-exclusiveTBC items such as the Swift Brewfest Ram Epic mount, which is only available as a drop after players manage to defeat Coren Direbrew at the Grim Guzzler. There is noWoW TBC goldto be found at this time of the year, as players will have to collect tokens instead ofTBC Classic goldinstead.

The main event happens in two camps near Orgrimmar and Ironforge, one for the Alliance and one for the Horde. The camps serve as the base of operations for players that are looking to complete the Brewfest quests or buy seasonal pets and items. Oh, and of course all the festivities aren’t complete without a spot of beer. Luckily, there are Beer Gardens in each of the major cities where players can choose to buy some food, beer, and other beverages. MarketBusinessTimes

Nothing New to Offer

The joyof World of Warcraft Classic is that it emulates the original experiences while making small quality of life improvements to make it more palatable to newcomers. Players assumed that the same would be true during the seasonal Brewfest event in the Burning Crusade, but when they logged into the game after the event began, they noticed something different. The Brewfest event was the one from patch 2.4.3 rather than the original. This led to the event having nothing new to offer, especially to those who have participated every year.

One of the biggest reasons why fans were so disappointed was that the original version was the only way to get the Brewfest Ram mount. What makes the Brewfest Ram mount so valuable is its ability to increase speed by a whopping 60%, resulting in the mount becoming a very prized item. However, it was only available in 2007 -the original version of Brewfest-while the community seemed to have received the 2.4.3 patch version of Brewfest. While players could still complete every quest that was present back in 2007, there was no way to unlock the Brewfest Ram. Players alsocouldn’t unlock the 2007 yellow Brewfest Stein, although it’s not as highly sought after compared to the Ram.

All these things that WoW Classic players missed out on led to frustrations boiling over within the community. The Brewfest Ram is seen as an ultra-rare status symbol for players who had completed the Riding Ram quests originally in 2007. And, well, those that are gunning for the elusive mount after all these years are flat out of luck.

In A Nutshell

Besides the missing Brewfest Ram, the event ended for some players before the scheduled completion date. This led to players becoming infuriated since Blizzard didn’t let them complete enough quests to collect tokens in time and many were just one or two days away from being able to collect them all. As for the mounts, there were still two that were available for players to obtain: the Swift Brewfest Ram and the Great Brewfest Kodo. While they’re inferior compared to the 2007 Brewfest Ram, they’re still both pretty fast mounts that can carry a lot ofTBC items and WoW TBC gold. What do you think of the chaos that ensued concerning the Brewfest event for 2021? Let us know down below.
