THC and Deltas, we know these terms can confuse and overwhelm everyone at some point of time. We will break it down for you. THC has 4 main delta variants. Out of which two have gained popularity are Delta 8 and 9 THC. Specifically talking about Delta 8 THC, it is a cannabinoid derived from CBD which is extracted from the Hemp Plant.

The Hemp plant goes through laboratory treatment to reach the final shape of Delta 8 THC. Its potent cousin, Delta 9 THC is also extracted in a similar way. These two cannabinoids differ in their levels of potency. While Delta 8 THC might have a relaxing effect, Delta 9 THC will knock you off for some hours. Depending on your level of THC tolerance, you can choose either of them.

How to make weed gummies: A Step by Step Guide

Serves: 7 to 8 gummies depending on the mold size

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 1 hour

Step 1: Mixing Delta 8 THC infused oil and water

In a mixing bowl, add the ½ cup of cold water and then add ½ teaspoon of soy/sunflower lecithin along with the ½ cup Delta 8 THC infused oil. Mix the ingredients together slowly and pour them into a saucepan kept on low heat.

Step 2: Adding Gelatin powder

Once the oil dissolves completely, open the packet of the unflavored Gelatin powder and scoop out 2 tablespoons into the mixture on the stove. Similarly, put 1 tablespoon of flavored gelatin powder into the mix. Keep stirring slowly, making sure there are no lumps that are formed. Don’t which aggressively so as to create foam.

Step 3: Cooking on low flame

Keep stirring the mixture on a low flame for about 10 to 15 minutes. Our goal here is to give the mixture a smooth consistency while not cooking it completely. Make sure the mixture does not reach its boiling point. Remove any foam that comes on top. This is important in order to have perfect gummies without any air bubbles.

Step 4: Pour the mixture into gummy molds

Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, you can put out the flame. Do not let it rest. Quickly, pour the hot mixture into gummy molds. You can buy molds of any shape online. You can use a funnel to pour the mixture into the molds.

Step 5: Freeze it

As soon as all the molds are filled, put them in a freezer for at least 30 to 45 minutes for them to harden up. Once in a familiar state, you can take them out on food paper and let them rest for a while.

Step 6: You did the work, now eat them!

Probably the easiest and most satisfying step.

This is how you can make Delta 8 THC gummies at home easily. You just need to follow the steps carefully. Remember to take the usual precautions you take in a kitchen. We recommend that you use measuring devices for this recipe as we’re dealing with THC here. This way you will ensure that your final product is of the desired potency.

How different are Delta 8 and 9 THC gummies?

Most people don’t know this but there are four types of THC, which differ in potency and effects. Delta 8 and 9 THC are chemically similar in structure, as both have a double-bonded structure, but this bond is found at different points of the carbon chain with every form of THC. As a result of this unique design, Delta 8 THC interacts in a different manner with our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) than Delta 9 THC.

The effects of the two cannabinoids are different. Think of Delta 9 as the more potent and aggressive partner of Delta 8. The ‘high’ on Delta 8 does not interfere with your routine activities and leaves you with a feeling of calmness and relaxation. Whereas, Delta 9 THC might have unpleasant side effects.
