9 Items You Should Never Forget To Carry On Camping

If you like going on outdoor adventure trips with your friends and family, then you should never forget some essential items to carry with you, or you will not be able to enjoy your day thoroughly.

And if you are going on camping for the first time, just make sure to include all the listed items while packing.

So let’s check out those items.

Tent:

The first thing you should always keep in mind before stepping out for camping is to carry a tent. Having a tent should not be a big deal as nowadays, many portable and compact tents are available in the market that you can buy according to your budget if you don’t have one.

Going on camping without a tent is obviously not a good idea. A tent gives you privacy and acts as a shelter to protect you from sunlight, wind, rain, insects like mosquitoes and gives you a proper camp-like feel.

Sleeping Source:

You will be very sorry if you forget to carry a sleeping source with you. Luckily, you have several options to take for sleeping at your campsite. Most people prefer to bring an air mattress with them because they are lightweight and convenient to carry.

But don’t worry, there are many alternatives to an air mattress that can be used to sleep comfortably at any place. Some of them are camping, are cots, folding mattress, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, hammocks, car bed and yoga mat (make sure to use the thickest one or at least 9mm thick).

First aid kit:

We wish you never need the first aid kit on any of your outdoor trips, but always remember to carry it with you, especially if you have children.

It is crucial in case you or someone else gets hurt during the trip so that you don’t need to find a doctor and spoil your trip.

Waterproof Mobile Case:

We know how much you love your phone; everyone does. Always use a waterproof mobile case or cover while camping on any open ground area.

But if you are 100% sure that there is no chance of rain in that area, simply ignore it.

Flashlight or Lantern:

If you plan to stay all night at your campsite, you’re going to need this a lot.

A flashlight is great for walking around going to the washroom at night, and a lantern is best if you want to play games with your friends or family, such as card games, so that you don’t get bored. Also, you can use it if you want some light inside your tent throughout the night.

If you think you can use your phone’s flashlight instead of these regular lights, just drop the idea.

Most phone lights aren’t powerful enough to light up your tent all night, and it does drain the battery much faster, because of which you’ll need to carry the phone charger and power bank too, which is not advisable.

Water Bottle

No need to mention the importance of a water bottle on outdoor trips. Staying hydrated all the time helps your body function properly and keeps you refreshed.

Drinking water from the taps near your campsite can be dangerous, and it would be best to carry at least two water bottles if you are alone and staying for one night only.

Firestarter

Which type of food do you like to have while camping? Whether it is the pre-prepared food or you want to make it on your own because if you like to cook food, you’ll need a firestarter as you just can’t do that rubbing two stones against each other.

Extra clothes

Carrying some extra clothes is a kind of obvious thing, but some people still forget to pack them.

If you are going for 2-3 days, then pack at least 1-2 pairs according to the weather of your campsite. But for a one-day trip, only one pair of clothes is sufficient for an individual.

Hammer & Hatchet

These two tools can help you a lot at your campsite. The hammer will help you setting up your tent or other types of shelter made of tarp and ropes to protect you from heavy rain. The hatchet will help you split the wood logs for cooking and building the bonfire.

In The End:

So, these are some of the essential items you should carry to get the best camping experience. Next time whenever you pack your bag for camping, don’t forget to pack camping gear.
