Different ways avatars are changing music and entertainment

There is no doubt that conversation media has had a big impact on the multi-billion dollar music and entertainment industries. People are incorporating this AI technology into their daily lives at a great pace. It is one of the most significant improvements in how the consumers experience all the music entertainment media has to offer.

Technology and music are expanding and colliding at the speed of sound whether it is recording artists, songwriters, producers, or fans.

There has been a drastic change in the ways of how music streaming platforms and apps have been distributing music.

SPOTIFY AND SOUNDCLOUD

Be it Spotify or SoundCloud delivering music to a global audience has become simpler and more accessible to the audience than ever.

Now there is no barrier to presenting one’s love for music by looking for top producers and listeners of live music; anyone who has the opportunity and talent can make it big.

Privacy music was an expensive affair and required equipment of thousands of dollars but in today’s time music can be produced anywhere and everywhere. It has opened a new range of capabilities for sharing music on a global scale.

These are some of the few examples of how technology has impacted the music industry and how it has held different artist creators and top Media agencies. With the technical advances in the music and entertainment industry, it will totally evolve in the coming times.

 3D AVATARS

There has been quite a good rise in 3D avatars for fan engagement in recent times. If you have already used a digital avatar to attend a virtual event, happy hour, or work meeting, you are already ahead of the game. Top recording artists have developed their own personal avatars which have become a form of self-expression for their music and personality and have opened a new route for the engagement of fans.

In today’s time, artists and agencies feel a special obligation to support a healthy entrepreneurial ecosystem in the music industry. Many professionals believe that artists and creatives must continue the representation of digital media and technology.

Customisation of 3D of 10 is one of a kind opportunity for fan connection. It promotes personal expression and next-generation experiences in particular. Artists can construct virtual “identities” that they can use across numerous digital platforms by using 3D avatars.

AVATARS FOR VIRTUAL ARTISTS AND FANS

Fans can have an online identity with an artist through these avatars, which increases loyalty and participation in the virtual world.

Avatars create unknown personal space for the artists and their fans. This digital space helps the fans and the artists to communicate and represent the music and talent in a better way. Especially, during the pandemic this has been a breath of fresh air for the fans as they could not see the artist for a really long time.

Some of the examples include-

  1. Abba reunion performance in 2018 December is a great example of how digital avatars have brought a great change in the music industry. The Swedish pop stars took the stage via Avatar and changed the way musical acts are performed in concerts and tours.

  2. Virtual artists have been around for a really long time. Back in 2006 the Gorilla performed at the Grammys with the animation and mingled seamlessly in a performance with Madonna. Since then there has been no going back and the performers have definitely evolved.

They’ve been called holograms for a long time but this is incorrect because according to Michael page Assistant Professor Atos University “It is a video projection. It has nothing to do with holography.”

  1. In today’s time, the illusion is typically created by projecting 3D which was honoured in film. Be it live stages across the globe, or for k-pop idols for concerts in Seoul, or conference lectures or performances by deceased artists like Michael Jackson, avatars have never disappointed the audience.

This technology has the potential to make the future of live touring much easier. Last-minute cancellations won’t be a thing with the introduction of this technology as no matter whether the artist is sick or injured or if a band member is not available or are at completely different locations they can perform anywhere.

But like everything, even this virtual platform is subject to certain glitches in the system. Firstly this can be pretty expensive as it requires setting up a lot of equipment and technology. It can cost upwards of $500,000. This system works best indoors as any glitches can break the illusion. Platforms that create virtual artists face a lot of criticism especially for creating performances of artists who have passed away.

 CONCLUSION

The only thing we can conclude by this is that the main aim of this platform is to help the artist and the fans to engage easily and even during tough times like covid fans and artists can interact with each other. In today’s time and even in the coming future avatars can bring a whole revolution to the music and entertainment industry and can prove to be a boon to the industry.

Hope this helps. Happy reading!
