The fact that it is still the manufacturer of the world’s most expensive car. The brand, building ‘Sweptail’, created the furor in luxury automobile world.
The technical aspects of Sweptail are not that different from other high-end cars, but the facts surrounding its luxury aspects makes it much ahead from other most expensive luxury cars. It is powered by V12 engine producing a power of 453 hp and torque of 531. It has the top speed of 150 mph, with an impressive 0-60 acceleration time of 5.6 secs. By now, it is clear that Sweptail is just ahead of average premium cars in terms of technical specifications. However, what would blow your mind are the other features, which made it not only the most expensive car in the world, but also the most luxurious car in the world.

Koenigsegg Trevita has a special diamond coating all over its body. This special and patented diamond coat gives it the white, shinny tinge, which is one of its kind. Well, this info was required to justify is price tag of USD 4.8 million; pretty high! But Sweptail has no diamonds and yet, its price is a whopping USD 12.8 million. It is more than 2.5 times costlier than Koenigsegg! It means Sweptail’s price is 2.5 times more than the next costliest car. Other brands would have to crumble their strategies to get such a car in commercial production. Well, it’s too much to think about, because, even Sweptail not a commercial production.
- Sweptail is Not for Sale
Yes, this 13-million-dollar car is not for sale. The car was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este of Italy in May, 2017. Driving a 13-million-dollar car is not impossible, but such a car would be definitely hard to sell. Therefore, even Rolls Royce would think before investing that much time, skill and labor to produce something that can cost that high. Sweptail is definitely not for common market. It is specially made by the luxury brand as a fully customized car. However, it is not such that they are not willing to make another one. But, only after a pre-order. Rolls Royce will make these Sweptail with fully personalized features as directed by the buyer. Also, the car in this range might not be named as ‘Sweptail’ either.
- Only a single Sweptail is made so far
The extensive features and detailed customization of Sweptail, in fact, speaks loudly about the new approach of Rolls Royce to built highly expensive cars, that to, only on demand. Sweptail had its name for the unique design it had due to the tapered sunroof, reaching the lower part at the back. Rolls Royce came with this design after being guided by the owner. Hence, it is unsure is the brand will come up with another such car, even if someone orders it. May be, the next buyer would want a different customization, bringing out a new name for the design. There is a high probability that only a single such car is made and it would be the only one for a long time.

When Rolls Royce presented the Sweptail for the first public display, it was already sold out. It is because, it was manufactured only after receiving the order. In the luxury car event, Rolls Royce described its owner as, “a connoisseur and collector of distinctive, one-off items.” Interestingly, the company did not reveal this owner until now. For luxury car fans, the owner is the mysterious rich man, who can afford to drive this 13-million-dollar car.
