There are a number of activities for you to take part in on Fossil Island, but first, we need to get there.

Old School Runescape isn’t just about working for OSRS gold and raising your skill levels. In fact, there’s an abundance of things for you to do in the game that you might not have heard about. One such feature is the treasured location of Fossil Island. If this is somewhere you’ve never even heard of, or you have been wondering what you need to do to get there, then you are in the right place.

Getting the right items is what is going to be key to getting us to where we want to be here. With that in mind, you won’t need to worry about the prospect of having to buy OSRS gold from anyone, so there’s no need to go looking for OSRS gold for sale. There isn’t really an enemy that should stand in your way either, so keep that Twisted Bow holstered for the time being. So, without further ado, here is what you need to know to get started with Fossil Island.

About Fossil Island

In Old School Runescape, Fossil Island serves as an area that is only available to members. You can find it in the northeastern area of Morytania, where you will find that it is a rather unique location. It is a place in which players have the opportunity to work with several skills.

The island is under exploration from the Varrock Museum, as they search to find out more about this unchartered location. There are several smaller islands that surround Fossil Island. On the surface, it would seem that there are seven additional islands around it. However, according to the map found in the basement of the House on the Hill, there is in fact an extra 13 hills that are around it. This is based on the archipelago map, and the only other archipelago that players can get to is Lithkren. This takes place during Dragon Slayer II, so you may be familiar with it already.

Making your way to the island requires you to have finished the quest known as Bone Voyage. To get here, you are going to first need to get 100 Kudos. The digsite pendant is going to be your main choice for getting to Fossil Island itself, so you can get to the digsite barge. From here, you can speak with the guard and the navigator to start your journey.

Reaching Fossil Island

A lot of players have been searching for ways to get to the coveted Fossil Island. The digsite pendant as mentioned is the most popular way of doing it, since it’s the easiest way of getting yourself there. This has to be used within the House on the Hill, which you will find to the north of the Museum Camp. A machine to the south will force an option that lets you teleport to the house which in turn brings about the Mycelium Transportation System. You can use this to get yourself across to Fossil Island, though you need to have visited the locations previously and using the systems on them first.

For those who don’t have the pendant, then there is an alternative that you can use. The Glider transportation system being used with the Spirit Tree transportation system is also capable of getting you to the island. You will firstly need to head to the Grand Exchange and use the spirit tree so that you can teleport over to the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Go up the tree to find the Glider, which you can use to get to Lemanto Andra. Doing this brings you to nearby the digsite, and ultimately to the boat you need to catch to get to Fossil Island. Using a Ring of Dueling to then teleport will take you to the Duel Arena. You can then use the gnome glider near Al Kharid’s gem trader to complete your journey to your destination.

At least these methods aren’t too impactful on your OSRS GP, as its more about knowing whereabouts you need to be in order to reach the island itself. There is a lot to get done whilst on Fossil Island, but at least now you have a better understanding of what you need to do in order to get there. With the right tools at your disposal, you will be traversing the island that you have been looking for in no time at all.
