Soil Investigation Services: Important Facts About Soil Testing

Soil investigations are carried out by biotechnological scientists or biotechnological engineers to gain information on the mineral characteristics of Soil, groundwater, and underlying soils for planned construction and remediation of damage to existing structures and new construction caused by subsoil conditions. Soil quality is essential in determining the suitability of various building materials. Soil quality can be improved through proper investigation.

Soil quality and structure are determined through laboratory testing of samples of Soil taken from different areas. Samples are tested for moisture content, nutrient content, pH, count of microorganisms, color, transparency, and density. Soil should be analyzed for its suitability for specific applications based on such factors as land use, e.g., cropping needs, agricultural or landscape maintenance, etc. Soil quality testing should be based on such factors. Soil Quality Assessments test the suitability of a soil for a particular application. They can be used to evaluate Soil Improvement Programs, Soil Improvement Projects or determine the quality of the Soil for specific usage.

Soil Treatment – Soil Investigation

Soil samples are collected from the natural environment either during the drilling process or afterward. Samples may also be taken from areas already treated with Soil Treatment Plants. Soil sampling can be carried out on various surfaces, including rocks, clay, gravel, Soil, decayed leaves and twigs, soil contours, slope profiles, etc.

Techniques of Soil Testing and Investing

Soil testing and soil analysis are usually carried out on samples of sandy and rocky Soil. Soil texture is also a significant factor to consider when carrying out Soil Investigation and Soil Quality Testing. Soil samples are tested for the Soil Quality Standards (SQS) and one or more independent laboratory tests for hardness (either optical or mechanical) and chemical conductivity (for example, color, aroma, fertility, tannin). Soil samples can also be tested for color, bulk composition, fluorescence, alteration in the Soil Characteristics, microbial properties, water holding capacity, etc. Soil Properties can be tested, for instance, Soil Organic Contaminants (SOC), Soil Nutrients (SNC), Soil pH, Soil Electrical Property, Soil Solubility, Chemical Properties, etc. Soil Properties can also be determined, for example, on a Soil Bank, Soil Specimen, Soil Chart, Soil Analysis Results, Soil Conditions, Soil Potential, and Soil Erosion Resistance.

How to Collect Soil Samples for Investigate

Soil samples can be collected either by sponging or employing septic tank systems. Soil samples may also be collected from areas where Soil Experimentation occurs, e.g., in borehole wells. Soil samples should be collected and tested as soon as possible as they are essential for the whole Soil Improvement process as they are a significant part of the Soil Management Process. Samples taken from areas not used for Soil Investigation will not give the same results as samples taken from Soil Investigation and Soil Testing.

Soil sampling is usually carried out as a part of Soil Investigation and Soil Testing and sometimes it may also be carried out as part of Soil Management or pre-treatment procedures in some cases, e.g., in borehole wells where soil sampling is carried out to evaluate the quality of the Soil and to pre-treat the healthy water. Soil sampling and Soil Investigation techniques are often applied together to assess the quality of soils in different landscapes e.g.
